As a part of our collective personal healing journey we allow ourselves to explore religion and spirituality (given that we are respectful and go through proper means) this has made us an interfaith system as stated before in another post. But one thing that we occasionally think about is what will happen when we die? If there is an afterlife, which one do we go to? Do we all go to the same one or are we separated? This post has taken way longer than expected, we've been switching a lot while writing this. Hopefully everyone has been able to express themselves truthfully in this post. Content warning for brief mentions of integration and final fusion. As a reminder, we are an interfaith system consisting of: Hinduism and Kemeticism. For us we do approach religion as both a way to understand the cosmos and the personality the cosmos holds as well as a way to understand ourselves, explore ideas and build ourselves up. This is not to say that we pick and choose religions for fun, or toss them out when we are done. We do respect these religions (researching, converting when needed etc) and have varying levels of practice. I won't write on our Catholic alter only because she is a little and her Catholic belief is heavily intertwined with trauma beliefs.
Some systems believe that when we die, we "split" into different bodies and go to our respective afterlives. But when we have grown up with each other, don't plan on final fusion and rely on each other for help, this idea isn't very comforting. Neither is the idea of being taken to another alters afterlife and still having to wait for switches to occur. A belief we have come to is that we share the same soul, even if that soul will un-identify itself with itself it will still be connected to itself. The idea of having multiple souls that do different things is found in Heathenry and Kemeticism. Hinduism does have the jiva (earthly soul/personality) and atman (eternal godly soul) and in this framework we would possess many jiva or believe our jiva is deluded with maya/illusion. If one alter can produce an astral body unique to them can we still be able to communicate with each other and continue our family-relationships as we do now? Would our souls remember each other, returning to each other like the ba bird returns to the body? We are each other's ba birds, returning to each other and replenishing each other no matter where we are, like rains nourishing an oasis. We either fall into the belief of reincarnation or a Heaven-like realm where we will reside; either temporarily or permanently. The belief in reincarnation and having a rest period between reincarnations is also something found in Hinduism. Our Vaishnava Hindu has repeatedly expressed eir desire to have a rest in Vaikuntha (Vishnu's Heaven) where ei can worship him in peace before re-entering samsara. Then unite with him through moksha for eternity. If one of us reincarnated, there's three results we can think of: one being we will automatically final fuse into one soul and continue the cycle like this; we all reincarnate as a system again; or we reincarnate into different bodies. None of these are particularly wanted for by any of us, but at the end we may not have any choice in this matter.
